mmmm... chocolate....

so... i know i havent posted in quite a long time... no excuses, just really busy... it doesnt seem like i have had to many moments to spare in the kitchen... but here's a little recap of what i've been up to... and i can use one word to describe it... CHOCOLATE

above is a chocolate cream pie, obviously... i made a lovely light and creamy chocolate pastry cream, layered that atop a buttery pie dough and covered it with a huge mound of vanilla whipped cream...

below are some really yummy, super moist and chocolatey devilsfood cupcakes and chocolate truffle frosting... i'm craving a glass of milk just thinking about them...

the famous ny times chocolate chip cookies.... one word... AMAZING... i've been dying to try this recipe since i read it months and months ago... the combination of the chocolate and the seasalt is just bonkers... soooo gooood!!

so no real reason for baking today other then the simple fact that i wanted to... you know how it is... and it's been a while since i last posted... i've baked between now and then ( a southern style peach cobbler and a party cake similar to the one i made for my husbands birthday), but i didn't get to take any pictures before we stuffed our faces with them... anyways... as i was saying i was bored... and i wanted to try out some new decorating techniques with all the pastry tips i own, but seldom use... so... here's some pictures... i was happy with the oddly beautiful results...
